Client:Marks and Spencer PLC
Scope:Researched and prepared a strategy to support roll out of novel technologies for identifying higher value stock in all M and S stores. Project included supplier/vendor assessment and selection
Outcome:400 million retail items ‘tagged’; 4% uplift in retail sales; significantly enhanced customer experience

Technology assessment

Client:Rio Tinto Zinc Corporation
Scope:Identification, review and assessment of novel technologies to satisfy business requirements in harsh ‘underground’ environments.
Outcome:Deployment of 2 new technologies that led to enhanced underground safety across RTZ operations.

Product Development

Client:EDS Inc (now part of Hewlett Packard)
Scope:Development of innovative access control/asset identification platform to meet critical business requirements to secure sensitive/CLASSIFIED IT assets
Outcome:Systems designed, developed, tested and installed across the UK, securing significant contractual benefits (>£100m).

Operational strategy

Client:SIRIT (now part of 3M Group)
Scope:Following 5 mergers/acquisitions by SIRIT, researched, developed and validated a new 5 year Group strategy that exploited new strengths and capabilities, in an emerging global market.
Outcome:Validated group strategy.

Quality systems and processes

Client:Royal Dutch Shell PLC
Scope:Developed, documented and deployed new quality systems and associated processes to manage data collection and interpretation.
Outcome:Operational efficiencies and transparency/audit capabilities throughout Shell.

System development - GIS for Amphibious operations

Client:Ministry of Defence
Scope:Requirements capture, specification, design, test and deployment of novel GIS capabilities to support Royal Marines’ operations on northern flank of NATO.
Outcome:Quicker UK deployments; greater planning and operational capabilities; faster, more effective beach landings/assaults; improved safety.

System development - data capture and analysis

Client:NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory
Scope:Design, developed, tested, installed and supported novel systems to model processes observed within interplanetary atmospheres,
Outcome:Significant extensions of NASA’s capabilities and understandings of data sets returned from Pioneer, Mariner and Viking unmanned space probes.
